Meg + David :: Chicago Field Museum :: The Wedding

The amazing day of Meg and David’s big bash has been a long time in the making! The time finally came and went and WOWSA – so beautiful. Their love for each other, their friends and family is contagious – they made it so easy to blend in with their crowd and celebrate along with everyone! I had such a blast getting to know these two – even though they live a few hours away in Michigan – it felt like we’d been friends for a long time! The star studded vendor team was coordinated by our AHP Friend Lauren Knuepfer and her amazing LKEvents team. I’m hoping to do a recap on the decor soon and I’ll keep you posted on all the vendors!!!

As the ladies got ready I couldn’t help but notice the fog rolling in, as well as, the regatta and parade!!

Meg and David’s first look was at the Hilton – so pretty!

Meg’s gift to her bridesmaids were vintage bracelets - their florals were gorg too!

Elizabeth + James :: Chicago Engagement Session

Elizabeth and James rocked out a few of my favorite spots in the South Loop! Not only did they completely embrace my love (and Elizabeth’s) for wide open spaces they also got to explore the city’s natural paradise of Northerly Island – a new one for them and my FAV! So natural, easy going and smiley! The AHP 2012 lineup of couples is rockin! Can’t wait for September with these two at Galleria Marchetti.

Liz + Dan :: Wicker Park Engagement Session

Liz and Dan’s big day is just next month so I was happy we were able to sneak in an engagement session this past weekend! After a half hour rain delay (or shall I say complete downpour with lightning and flash floods!) we hit the streets of Wicker Park for a laid back neighborhood feel. I loved how relaxed and open they were to finding some unique vignettes down streets and alleys. Can’t wait for the wedding in a few shorts weeks!!

Charlotte + Marshall :: Chicago Engagement Session

Such a fun stroll around the loop with Charlotte and Marshall last week!! These two are getting hitched in New York so I was so happy to capture them in their home of Chicago for their engagement session. Mary + Ryan :: St. Charles Engagement Session

Mary and Ryan (and Bella too!) were so much fun to hang out with. We spent some time exploring a park near Mary’s home in St. Charles along the Fox River. Although we had rain hovering over us – we ended up staying dry and making some great images! Can’t wait for the wedding in May!!!

the soft golden glow at dawn, the cool blue evening hues or the shimmering excitement of midday – light is always changing, never static, never stationary.

our rotating earth gives way to an ever evolving palette of colors and world of textures barely seen by the eye. it’s only when we slow down, pause and sit that this luminous landscape becomes visible.

this hidden world is where amanda hein’s photography basks – in the flickering light behind leaves and subtle shadows at the end of the day.

Abby and Luke were blessed with classic windy Chicago spring weather before it turned summer around here just one week later….the day was all about them and flowed effortlessly. Union League Club was transformed into an elegant traditional yet modern venue. With masterminds behind the design/coordination like our AHP friends Anne Book Signature Style and Hello Darling – this was a for sure show stopper! Katy and Chris had a beautiful intimate ceremony surrounded by family at Bistrot Margot this past weekend. It was such a pleasure to capture this special time as they joined their families and start one of their own! Katy’s niece was so cute I just couldn’t resist this sweet shot of her showing off her bride and groom barbies (a gift from Katy and Chris)! Katy’s mother tried her hand at preparing her first wedding cake – after a bumpy ride to the city and a little TLC from the bakery down the street it landed at the party in tip-top shape. Congrats to the two of you – can’t wait to continue your story in a few short months!
