Katie + Andy

It’s so fun to hear engagement stories and be able to shoot where it actually took place. I feel that it creates a personal (sometimes overwhelming) touch. It also allows for those little feelings to find their way back in your tummy as if it was all to happen again. That’s one of the reasons I love engagement sessions so much. I have the opportunity to really feel my clients stories and share their love with their friends and family through images. It was easy for me to see Katie and Andy’s love – they were so fun, giggly, and excited for what is to come. They are planning a wedding in Northern Michigan – which sounds beautiful! Best wishes to the two of you!

Eric + Sara Ann

Can we just say awesome light!! My last few sessions have been blessed with a cool breeze and incredible warm light. Eric and Sara Ann are planning a wedding in Ohio next year so it was important to get a little Chicago flare for the two of them. This session was filled with excitement – fire engines, ambulances, life helicopters, and police boats – don’t worry not for us, but we do hope everyone was OK out on the Lake. There are so many fun shots of these two – here’s a sneak peek!

Erin + John :: Lake Shore Country Club :: Chicago Wedding

FAMILY. When you think about weddings of course you think of family. For Erin and John their day wasn’t only about the two of them – Erin pledged her love to John along side his (now their) 4 kids. It was an emotional day filled with love spilling everywhere. What a blast it was to capture these moments and be able to share this amazing day with everyone involved. The ceremony took place at Sacred Heart Church in Winnetka and the reception was held at the beautiful Lake Shore Country Club in Glencoe.

Jack’s Newborn Session

You all remember mommy-to-be Kirstin – well her maternity session was done just in time! Jack arrived just five days after!! Jack is doing great and is as cute as can be. Here’s a sneak peek at the little peanut.

COLORADO OR BUST!

Well we didn’t bust…for my avid blog readers I thank you for your patience. I finally have caught up from my mid-season vacation. Every year my husband and I take a week off to recoup, re-energize, and refocus for the second half of the wedding season. We most always pick a music festival, pack the car, and head off for a weeks worth of camping. This year was no different. We headed out for a driving tour of Colorado (OK the breweries and great friends). Our trip started off in Boulder hitch hiking to the top of Boulder Creek and tubing down to the center of town – what a BLAST!! We then ventured out to Steamboat to catch up with one of our best friends Tara. The next day we continued our journey through the Poudre Canyon and nestled into Ft. Collins for the night. The rest of the week was spent camping in Lyons at the Rocky Grass Bluegrass Festival. With the stage at the edge of the foothills, it was quite the venue. While we were in Lyons we entered to win tickets to next year’s festival by competing in the “How Green is Your Grass – Green Campsite Challenge.” The contest was put on by the Leave No Trace Organization. By showing how clean and sustainable our campsite was, and making conscious decisions to reduce our carbon footprint…we were rewarded with the FIRST PRIZE!!! We were so excited!!! Well wow this was a long post so I will let you digest everything…here are some highlights from our trip:
